MSFT’s ANNUAL MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN

SINCE 2020

IMPROVING THE MENTAL HEALTH OF NZ IS AN ONGOING MISSION. IF YOU ARE A INDIVIDUAL OR BUSINESS WANTING TO SUPPORT THE #SPARKTHATCHAT MOVEMENT OUTSIDE OF MARCH, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH THE MSFT TEAM BY HITTING THE BUTTON BELOW.

Your support is needed now more than ever.

Whilst our home region, Hawke’s Bay continues to recover in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle, there has never been a more necessary time to launch our annual SPARK THAT CHAT mental health campaign for our 4th year. What’s our aim with Spark That Chat? To do exactly that. Get people talking, destigmatise the way we discuss mental health, and promote positivity, resilience, and mental well-being to save lives.

#SPARKTHATCHAT Challenge

For the month of March, our social media platforms are solely dedicated to sparking those chats, by sharing advice from mental health professionals, positive stories that encourage people to look out for one another, light-hearted but relatable entertainment that boosts morale and brings people together, as well as an interactive, practical way to care for your mental health with our #sparkthatchat challenge.

Get involved! We’re encouraging you to do something that benefits your mental well-being every day, and by posting it to social media with the hashtag #sparkthatchat, you can inspire someone else to give the same activity a go!

100% of profits donated to support long-term mental health wellness.

Encouraging others to Spark That Chat can save lives immediately. To fuel our mission and create more awareness, we fundraise by selling our limited edition, Spark That Chat apparel collection available (month of March), of which 100% of the profits are donated to the cause - which we aim to create local events, support groups and resources to support the mental wellbeing of our communities across Hawkes Bay & New Zealand - working alongside the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand to do what we can to ultimately help save lives and help the wellbeing of our community.

We are stoked about this year’s apparel, with a fresh, trendy new design in new colour ways, created with the kiwi lifestyle in mind! The collection includes hoodies, t-shirts and hats.

WHAT INSPIRED THE #SPARKTHATCHAT MOVEMENT?

“On November 24th 2020, the MSFT crew lost one of our own - our boy Reido - to suicide. Like so many others who sadly can relate, this loss came as a shocking blow to so many who loved and knew him. Since Reido I’ve lost two more close to me, Theo and Campbell, and I can’t bare to lose more.

I reached out to the MSFT community for support during those impossibly hard times and was devastated to hear just how many of your lives have been affected by suicide and mental health issues, and we want to help.

MSFT Productions has always been a platform to promote ‘spreading the froth’, making the most of everyday, and doing everything that makes your soul shine, but we want to extend that work further and become a platform for all things mental health - the good and the bad - to offer fellow frothers the encouragement, support and information they may have been searching for.

Keep your eyes on all our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok & Youtube) for inspiring content; buy some of our rad new apparel to donate to the cause, and most importantly #sparkthatchat.”

HAWKES BAY FUEL YOUR STOKE SHOWS

Get out of the silt and into these epic shows across Hawkes Bay for an unforgettable, much-needed escape, providing you with LIVE music from top local musicians, food and beverages, family friendly activities and games and connect with the community who are there for you.

The purpose of this tour is to bring communities together and uplift spirits in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle, especially in rural and remote areas that have been impacted the most. MSFTs were with you in the mud after the floods, both on the shovel and with our Hawke’s Bay Helping website, and we’re still here for you now, looking after your mental health as we head into Winter.

These shows are at 8 different locations across Hawke's Bay where we are creating a safe and supportive space for locals to gather, lean on each other, and access essential mental health resources and support, or simply just have a good time and a reason to smile. Our goal is to ignite a ripple effect of positivity, breaking down barriers and promoting good mental health practices throughout the winter months when they are needed the most. Look after yourself, your spouse, your mates, family and colleagues and join us - you never know who might have been needing a good time the most.

This event is open to everyone, regardless of age or background. We want to see smiles on as many faces as possible and celebrate the resilience and strength of your community. Come join MSFT for a day filled with live music, inspiring talks, delicious hot food and activities for kids and adults that will fuel your stoke.

Thanks to our generous funders, this event is free of charge and is a donation free zone. We will have the bar subsidised for your drinks, so they will be at a very low cost & let us look after you by providing delicious free food and beverages throughout the day to keep your energy high and your spirits lifted. Silience of Lambs Pig on a spit, Salvation Army burgers and Beard Brothers sausys.

We can’t wait to bring your epic community together, embrace the silver linings, and reignite the flame of resilience and wellbeing within our community. Spread the word, spark that chat, invite your friends, and look forward to an event to remember.

Remember, even the smallest act of kindness can create a big impact.
